Abstract

Pendidikan karakter telah menjadi perhatian utama dalam konteks pendidikan di seluruh dunia, termasuk di tingkat pendidikan dasar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menginvestigasi pengaruh pendidikan karakter terhadap perkembangan sosial dan emosional siswa di sekolah dasar. Studi ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan desain penelitian kuantitatif yang melibatkan sampel siswa dari beberapa sekolah dasar yang berbeda. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang mencakup aspek-aspek penting dalam perkembangan sosial dan emosional siswa, termasuk pengembangan sikap positif, peningkatan hubungan sosial, dan kemampuan mengelola emosi. Selain itu, juga dikumpulkan data mengenai implementasi program pendidikan karakter di sekolah. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara pendidikan karakter dan perkembangan sosial serta emosional siswa di sekolah dasar. Program pendidikan karakter yang terintegrasi dengan baik dalam kurikulum sekolah dapat berkontribusi positif dalam meningkatkan sikap positif siswa terhadap orang lain, meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi dan kerjasama, serta membantu mereka dalam mengelola emosi dengan lebih baik. Penemuan ini memberikan implikasi penting bagi para pendidik dan pengambil kebijakan pendidikan dalam merancang dan mengimplementasikan program pendidikan karakter yang efektif di sekolah dasar. Hal ini menegaskan perlunya memberikan perhatian serius terhadap pengembangan sosial dan emosional siswa selain pengetahuan akademik, dan menekankan pentingnya pendidikan karakter sebagai sarana untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut. Kesimpulannya, pendidikan karakter memiliki pengaruh positif yang signifikan terhadap perkembangan sosial dan emosional siswa di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menyoroti perlunya pendekatan holistik dalam pendidikan, yang memperhatikan aspek karakter dan moral siswa sebagai bagian integral dari proses pendidikan.
